Using only an obsolete computer bought for $6 from a one-armed pawn shop owner, and a little brain-power, Tyler St Clair has been operating on the lower-level of fringe electronics since the mid-90s. He curates the trailing-edge vinyl record label Radiograffiti, while stealthily maintaining the Midwest tradition of operating under innumerable fake project identities – releasing everything from radio-friendly electro to low-fi plunderphonic hardcore. In 2013, St Clair’s Stagediver alias, saw the sell-out of his debut vinyl 7-inch, I, while Radiograffiti celebrated a milestone of its own: the label’s releases are now available in more than 15 countries on six continents.
St Clair has released material under Midwest hardcore label Distort, played Blip Festival (NY) and the now-infamous Schizophrenia parties (WI & MI), while sharing the stage with the varied likes of Mark N (AUS), Somatic Responses (UK) and heavily-armed members of the Detroit S.W.A.T. team.
